The European Commission has recently adopted a Temporary Framework legitimating EU Member States to grant aid in support of companies to cope with the crisis stemming from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Such aid will concern undertakings suffering from sanctions or countersanctions, or from extremely excessive increases in costs for gas and energy supplies, and will ensure them to hold an available sufficient liquidity as well as to compensate companies for the additional costs incurred due to exceptionally high gas and electricity prices.
Said contributions may reach the threshold of EUR 400,000 for each company and the temporary framework is going to be applicable until 31 December 2022. However, a possible extension cannot be excluded for the time being, in light of the future possible developments of the complicated international situation.
